Mitch Cobb Racing car dominates CRA event at Lanier National Speedway

The 2009 racing season got underway with the CRA Speedfest at Lanier National Speedway on January 25th.  A Mitch Cobb Racing Super Late Model car was leased for Mitch's teammate and Bill Elliott Development Driver Casey Roderick during the event.  Roderick took the pole-position and lead a majority of the event that was eventually won by NASCAR's Kyle Busch.

2008's rookie sensation Mitch Cobb sat out the event to support his teammate while he is still firming up his sponsorship plans for the 2009 racing season.

"It's good to give guys like Casey an opportunity."  Said Mitch during the weekend.  "We have two identically prepared GARC racecars with Ernie Elliott built Ford engines.  Our plan this year is to lease out one of our racecars for qualified drivers, while I compete in the other.  Casey's performance this weekend shows that our equipment is second to none."

Since the CRA event at Lanier, one qualified racer has already taken advantage of MCR's offer and tested with the team.  Californian hotshoe Dustin Jenks won 24 out of 26 main events last year in a dirt modified car and utilitized the opportunity by Mitch Cobb Racing's lease program to get his feet wet in an asphalt Super Late Model car.  Jenks completed a full day of testing under the watchful eyes of MCR's crew chief and Snowball Derby winner Ricky Turner.

Interested parties in leasing one of MCR's Super Late Model cars or for information about Mitch Cobb should contact Ryan Pfau at 775-835-1405 or ryanpfau@earthlink.net for more information.
